Itinerary

1 Day 1: Sokhna Port – Fly to Luxor – Explore Luxor Highlights

Your Book Egypt Travel representative will meet you at your cruise ship in Sokhna Port and transfer you by private air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Luxor.

Upon arrival, meet your private Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the magnificent ancient attractions of Luxor.

Valley of the Kings

Discover the legendary Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of the New Kingdom pharaohs. Hidden among the limestone hills are beautifully decorated tombs belonging to famous rulers such as Tutankhamun, Seti I and Ramses II. Admire the colorful wall paintings and hieroglyphic texts illustrating ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

Visit the spectacular Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari. Built into the surrounding cliffs, this architectural masterpiece features impressive terraces, colonnades and detailed reliefs celebrating the reign of one of ancient Egypt’s most successful female rulers.

Colossi of Memnon

Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These impressive monuments once guarded the entrance to his vast mortuary temple and have stood on Luxor’s West Bank for more than 3,000 years.

Lunch and Nile Boat Trip

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant on an island in the Nile. Your journey includes a relaxing motorboat ride across the river, allowing you to admire Luxor’s beautiful scenery.

Karnak Temple Complex

Continue to the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious complex constructed in ancient Egypt. Explore its towering columns, monumental gateways, sacred lake and remarkable Great Hypostyle Hall. The complex was developed over many centuries and was primarily dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut and Khonsu.

Overnight in Luxor

After completing your sightseeing tour, transfer to your five-star hotel in Luxor for check-in and a comfortable overnight stay.

2 Day 2: Fly to Cairo – Giza Pyramids, GEM & Egyptian Museum

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Luxor International Airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, meet your private Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the city’s most celebrated ancient attractions.

Giza Pyramids Complex

Visit the legendary Giza Pyramids Complex, one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological sites. Built during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty, the complex includes the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, along with temples, tombs and other remarkable ancient structures.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu

Admire the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest pyramid at Giza and the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Originally standing approximately 146 metres high, this remarkable monument was constructed using around 2.3 million stone blocks.

The Great Sphinx

Stand before the iconic Great Sphinx, an enormous limestone statue featuring the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. Believed to represent King Khafre, it has guarded the Giza Plateau for thousands of years. The famous Dream Stele of Pharaoh Thutmose IV stands between its paws.

The Valley Temple

Explore the Valley Temple of King Khafre, one of the best-preserved structures within the Giza complex. Built from massive blocks of limestone and granite, the temple was associated with royal purification and funerary ceremonies.

Grand Egyptian Museum

Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, an extraordinary cultural landmark located near the Giza Pyramids. Discover thousands of archaeological treasures representing more than 5,000 years of Egyptian history, including the complete collection of King Tutankhamun, the colossal statue of Ramses II and the impressive Hanging Obelisk.

Lunch

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a carefully selected restaurant overlooking either the Pyramids or the Nile.

The Egyptian Museum

Visit the historic Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, home to an impressive collection of statues, funerary objects, royal treasures and artifacts from different periods of ancient Egyptian history.

Return to Sokhna Port

After completing your Cairo tour, travel back to Sokhna Port in a private air-conditioned vehicle and arrive in time to rejoin your cruise ship.
